Working principles
Place a test sample with a certain exposed area in a testing room where the temperature, airflow, and pressure are controlled within the specified range. Formaldehyde is released from this test sample and mixed with the air in the testing room. Samples are taken in a timed sequence using a sampler. The mixed gas is continuously extracted from the testing room and absorbed through an absorption bottle containing distilled water. The formaldehyde concentration is then determined by spectrophotometry. Calculated in milligrams of formaldehyde released per square meter per hour.
